The Strong Black Woman is Yet Alive

* note: what is strange is that the "announcement" of the death of the "Strong Black Woman" actually gets passed around more than the announcement of her revival.

We all need to ask ourselves why we would rather the Strong Black Woman dies.  This includes our own people.

The following  piece was timely back in the day, but it most
certainly does not apply to the strong Black Women of
Today.

I am happy to report the Strong Black Woman has been
revived. It appears that she was not in fact dead.
She was in a deep coma from causes which were not at
all natural and imposed upon her without her
permission. The Strong Black Woman was then
pronounced dead prematurely by a white supremist
society that was afraid of her survival and the death
certificate was co-signed by Black men who could not
deal with her strength and who did not love
themselves.

As the body was being carried unceremoniously away to
the morgue for transport to a funereal home and later burial, one of her newly healed sisters
accompanying her noticed signs of life! There was yet
breath in those strong lungs and a very faint beat of
the warrior's heart. The Strong Black Woman was smuggled out of
that hospital into a Strong Black Woman's Emergency
Center, in secrecy where she was treated by a powerful
team of doctors who recognized her worth. But her
continued existence had to be kept a careful secret
until such time as the Strong Black Woman was able to
handle all that happened to her and was safe from her
enemies.

The ailments that led to her near death experience
have served to make her stronger. With a new
awareness of what led to her illness, appropriate
cognitive and rehabilitative therapy, and the support
of her Sisters, The Strong Black Woman will survive.

Total recovery is not far off. Signs of her survival
are springing up all over the planet. She is no
longer content to be relegated to being the Black
Man's "bitch", "ho" or "Baby Momma". She's finished
with the drama of unbalanced relationships and is
almost well enough to bring on the trauma to those who
refuse to appreciate who she is. (ref."It's a thin
line between love and hate" The Persuaders).  She states that
although she continues to love  our beautiful black man,  she loves herself much more
and will no longer allow him to kill her spiritually, emotionally or physically.
The Strong Black Woman warns him, that it could be him who wakes up in the hospital,
"bandaged from feet to head...in a state of shock...just that much from being dead". You "didn't
think I could do something like to you...didn't think your "girl" had nerve. But there
you are, I guess actions do really speak louder than
words."

Her time in the Coma was well spent. The Strong Black
woman had time, while everyone around her thought she
could not hear, to think about the man, Willie Lynch,
who almost authored her demise. She was determined
that she would survive and would do all she could to
destroy the syndrome which called for executing her
mind, body and spirit and the soul of her loved ones
with her.

The newly revived Strong Black woman would like to
thank the Creator of all existence for making her as
she is, Strong enough to survive in a world who does not recognize
that without her, life on the planet could not continue.  She also credits
the powerful ancestral mothers before her, who did tha damn thang
and let no one stop them, not even evil slave masters hell bent on destruction.
The Strong Black Woman also thanks Strong Black men, who are aware of who they are, not
intimidated by her strength and by his actions each
and every day, keep her in her rightful place of power
on the Black Planet.

She has one message to her detractors while she is in
recovery:

"I know you are waiting to see my dead body in the
coffin to confirm that The Strong Black Woman is
really dead. Be put on notice that will not happen.
I will continue to exist on this planet and bring
forth healthy family units that will topple global
white supremacy from it's 500 year perch and fight toe
to toe for what is rightfully ours....our lives and
the lives of those who come behind."

After all, that's what you were really afraid of right?

Thank you

The Strong Black Woman Has Died

While struggling with the Reality of being a Human
instead of a myth, the Strong Black Woman passed away.

Medical sources say she died of natural causes,

but those who knew her know she died from

being Silent when she should have been

Screaming, Smiling when she should

have been Raging, from being sick

and not wanting anyone to know

because Her Pain might

inconvenience them.

She Died from an overdose of other people

clinging to Her when she

didn't even have

Energy for Herself.

She Died from Loving Men who didn't

Love themselves and could only

offer her a crippled reflection.

She Died from raising Children Alone.

She Died from the Lies her Grandmother

told her Mother and her Mother told

her about Life, Men & Racism.

She Died from being sexually abused as

a child and having to take that Truth

everywhere she went every day of

Her Life, exchanging the

humiliation for guilt

and back again.

She Died from asphyxiation, coughing up

blood from Secrets she kept trying to

burn away instead of allowing

Herself the kind of nervous

breakdown she was

entitled to.

She Died from being Responsible, because

She was the last rung on the ladder and

there was no one under her She

could dump on.

The Strong Black

Woman Is Dead.

She Died from being a Mother at 15

and a Grandmother at 30 and an

Ancestor at 45.

She Died from being dragged down and

sat upon by un-evolved Women posing

as Sisters and Friends.

She Died from tolerating Mr. Pitiful,

JUST to have a Man around the house.

She Died from sacrificing Herself for

Everybody and Everything when

what She really wanted to do

was be a Singer, a Dancer,

or some Magnificent other.

She Died from Lies of omission because

She didn't want to bring the

Black Man down.

She Died from Tributes from her counterparts

who should have been matching Her Efforts

instead of showering her with dead words

and empty songs.

She Died from Myths that would not allow

Her to show Weakness without being

chastised by the Lazy and Hazy.

She Died from hiding her Real Feelings

until they became Hard and Bitter

enough to invade Her womb and

breasts like angry tumors.

She Died from always lifting something

from heavy boxes to refrigerators

All By Herself.

The Strong Black Woman Is Dead.

She Died from never being Enough of what

Men Wanted, or being Too much for the

Men She Wanted.

She Died from Being too Black and

Died again for not Being

Black enough.

She Died from being Misinformed about her

Mind, her Body & the extent of her

Royal capabilities.

She Died from knees pressed too close together

because Respect was never part of the

foreplay that was being shoved at Her.

She Died from Loneliness in Birthing rooms

and Aloneness in Abortion centers.

She Died in bathrooms with Her veins busting

open with Self-Hatred and Neglect.

And Sometimes when She Refused to die,

when She just Refused to give in, She

was Killed by the lethal images of

blonde hair, blue eyes, being

rejected by the OJ.'s, the

Quincy's, the Cuba's,

& the Kobe's.

Sometimes, She was stomped to Death by

Racism & Sexism, Executed by Hi-Tech

ignorance while She carried the

Family in her belly, the

Community on her

head, and the

Race on her

back!

The Strong Black Woman Is Dead!

Or Is She?

I KNOW I'M NOT!!

Pass this on to all the Strong Black

Women that you Love, Respect,

and Admire!

And the Black Men who care.
